Bayer HFCU raises $42,887.55 for CMN in 2013 — 2/6/14

Brings 5 Year Total to $144,000

Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union raised $42,887.55 for Children’s Miracle Network in 2013. Over the past 5 years, Bayer HFCU has donated $144,378.58 to CMN, a charity partner of the West Virginia Credit union League since 1995. Children’s Miracle Network hospitals use donated funds to improve medical facilities and provide health care for acutely ill or injured children. Currently, there are over 170 hospitals across North America that participate and utilize funding including WVU Children’s Hospital in Morgantown.

“We are extremely proud of the work Bayer Heritage FCU has done on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network over the years,” commented League President Ken Watts. “They have a demonstrated commitment to the mission of CMN and continuously do outstanding work on their behalf. We offer our sincere congratulations to the board and staff of Bayer HFCU for all of their efforts,” Watts added.

Bayer HFCU held two main fundraisers for 2013 according to Bayer Community Outreach Coordinator Karen Sebar. They were the Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union “Fore” Children’s Miracle Network Golf Scramble and the “Cooking for a Cure II” cookbook. Both of these fundraisers were matched through the Miracle Match with CO-OP Financial Services. Launched in 2008, Miracle Match is a one million dollar philanthropic matching program that encourages credit unions, chapters and leagues to create and participate in local CMN hospital fundraisers.

“Bayer HFCU would like to thank our staff, members and members of the community for your generosity in supporting this wonderful cause,” Sebar stated.
